Friday Finds 9.28.12

September 28th, 2012

You all know that I am constantly looking for practical favor ideas to pass along. The only thing that could possibly make that any better is by supporting the local economy. So when a friend of mine came across this little business based right here in Pittsburgh (and actually only about 1 mile from my house!), I knew I had to share them with you. Favor Creations is a Pittsburgh-based company that can personalize just about any product they carry. If you aren’t in Pittsburgh, have no fear! They ship internationally! And an added bonus: If you spend $500, you can save 10%!

They have some really cute oil & vinegar sets for the Italian bride, espresso sets for the coffee lovers, and wine stoppers for the wine-o’s like me! I encourage you to browse around on their site for a bit because they have some super cute items you won’t want to miss!!

And because every blog is better with a photo and this awesome shop is a Pittsburgh-based company, I leave you with this shot that I found here.

Tuesday Shoesday, Edition 64

September 25th, 2012

These were just way too fun. I had to post these heels by Vivienne Westwood.

I would venture to say these would strike up quite a bit of conversation while out with the girls for your bachelorette party, eh? Not that I am insinuating that you are anything but angelic…

Friday Finds 9.21.12

September 21st, 2012

After looking at J. Crew’s wedding line last week, I had to stick with that theme and check out Ann Taylor. In case you didn’t know, they also have a wedding line that has simple, clean cut wedding dresses that are incredibly cute. I think the Silk Dupioni Cascade Ruffle Wedding dress is the perfect combo of sexy and elegant.

So flowy and fun, right? And with a price tag of $795, you can definitely fit it into the budget! Now, go check out the wedding gown line and order!

Tuesday Shoesday, Edition 63

September 18th, 2012

Well unfortunately, the weather is going to get cold soon. Our wedding season extends all the way to December, so I have a little something for you ladies who are worried about the additional precipitation that might fall during those colder, winter months. I’m just prepping you a bit early. Besides, you need time to order these.

The unmistakeable Burberry check is perfect to keep your tootsies warm and toasty while in transit from photo op to photo op. And don’t worry, Burberry has a ton of other designs as well. So if you aren’t a fan of the check, you’re crazy you can find something else that floats your boat. Then you can keep your other pretty shoes safe in a tote. And you can get yourself a second pair of shoes. What bride doesn’t want that?!

Friday Finds 9.14.12

September 14th, 2012

When talking with a recent potential client, she mentioned that she had purchased her wedding gown from J. Crew. I knew that they had a wedding line, but I hadn’t looked at their site in awhile so I moseyed on over to the website and had a look see. I was super excited to see how it has grown since the last time I was on their site. But when I came across this adorable flower girl dress, I knew I had to share.

It is incredibly cute and I know if I had a flower girl, I would want her wearing this dress. And how much fun would she have twirling around in it? I mean, seriously. If you are going to have children in your wedding party, you want them to be as cute as possible and with this dress the cuteness just hits you in the face. If you add on a colored sash or flower around the waist, you can tie in any color. Perfecto!

Real Wedding: McKenzie & Josh

September 12th, 2012

McKenzie and Josh seriously have the sweetest family ever. That’s probably why they are so sweet themselves. Honestly, I would have done anything for these folks because they truly appreciated every little thing and every person involved in making this day happen. Through out the night, I was probably asked how I was and if I was ok about a zillion times. They really wanted each and every person to be as happy as they were.

It was a small wedding, only about 70 guests, but the amount of love that surrounded this couple was that of 700. McKenzie’s mom, Michelle, went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was exactly what her daughter wanted.

They really made the Mansion their own by bringing family photos to hang on the walls and decorated every mantel and shelf with things from the couple’s past.

The cake was gorgeous, right?

Ceremony music was provided by Steven Vance. They were amazing as usual!

Proud papa about to walk her down the aisle!

It was a little bit warm that day. And by a little bit, I mean it was probably one of the hottest, most humid days we had all summer. Rev. Larry Goyda of Meaningful Marriages officiated the ceremony and landed Josh a hand.

McKenzie and Josh have a beautiful little girl who was the cutest flower girl ever! Look at that little frilly dress!!

She was absolutely stunning and her gown fit her perfectly! It really did look like it was made for her.

I am so excited for McKenzie and Josh. They already have such a cute little family, so this was really just the icing on the cake… Welcome to the family!!

These amazing photos were done by our very own, Megan Stahl! Check her out here!

Tuesday Shoesday, Edition 62

September 11th, 2012

“I wanna rock and roll all night! And party everyday!” That is what these shoes are saying.

Alexander McQueen. I really can’t say much more about them honestly. I mean, am I right? Yeah, I thought so. Don’t mess with me, fool.

Oh. I’m sorry, that was the spirit of the shoes talking, not me. I was feeling a little rough and tumble there…

Real Wedding: Sindu & Shawn 6.30.12

September 5th, 2012

We always work hard for our brides and grooms. But when it is one of our own, we really kick into high gear. Shawn and Sindu have been family for longer than most couples. Shawn, our B&B General Manager and resident go to guy for all technological needs, got married on June 30 this year and we couldn’t be happier for them. Not to mention that Sindu has amazing taste and the details were spectacular!

I loved the colors, coral & gold, which were perfect for a summer wedding. Each detail made such a statement and there was something to look at where ever you glanced. Mosaic Inc. has some amazing options and they mixed up the linens throughout the space. I love when couples do this because it adds a little something extra. Bill Chisnell Productions did a fantastic job with the floral and other decorative pieces. And the food from Big Catering was INCREDIBLE, as always!

Sindu and Shawn had a traditional Hindu ceremony in her family’s temple the day before so they were able to really relax the morning of the reception. It was pretty hard to keep him from trying to work and set-up for the event. But after a few good lectures, we were able to get him to go up to the bridal suite and watch some TV. I am so glad I didn’t work here before my own wedding or I would have been doing the same thing.

Once the festivities kicked off, they were both able to relax and soak it all in. There was so many people dancing and laughing. It was just full of love and that is what a wedding day should be about. Check out some photos from the day in this little slideshow I created. The photos were done by Megan Stahl, our resident website photographer. Congrats Sindu & Shawn! We love you!

As if Kate Spade could get any better…

Boom. LOVE these and the adjustable sling backs… I tend to shy away from sling backs because they always fall off my heels. Maybe I have skinny heels or something, who knows. But I love that these are adjustable so brides don’t have to worry about fixing their shoes while trying to walk in a big ol’ dress. Believe me, it ain’t easy to maneuver that thing around! This vibrant blue is perfect for a bride looking for a little pop!
